The Art GIrls

Lauren and Olivia met at a show where Lauren was performing with her band (she's been the bass player in several; Bad Penny and the Pistols and The Dirty Decibles, for two). Olivia is a blues dancer, and after months of catching each other’s eye at shows, the two finally exchanged numbers on New Year’s Eve 2020. They got serious as the pandemic began, and both say that weathering such an intense time as a couple made them even closer. They're not afraid of meeting a challenge with chutzpah though; they both love hiking and being outdoors with their dog (they even got engaged at Big Bend), and are both giggers involved in various arts - music and food/beverage for Lauren, dancing and museums/visual arts for Olivia. These creative, kindhearted women wanted to have a small gathering with friends and family because they're both on the introverted side, but it was still important to them to have really beautiful, artistic elements like floral to mark the day they made their lifelong commitment.

capturing the couple's personal mythology

even though they opted to elope, Aesthetic venues, good food, and novelty flowers were still a priority!

Wanting to play off of the deep aubergines and greens ambient to both the Rothko Chapel where they held their private ceremony, and the upscale cajun restaurant Eunice where they hosted their closest friends and family for the reception, the ladies requested designer's choice florals that were funky, lovely, and would make sense in both contexts. Just a handful of arrangements, some bud vases, a bouquet and a boutonniere can (and did!) go a long way toward elevating the afternoon into something truly special.

Hi, I’m Hannah — florist, folklore enthusiast, and your local moss goblin with a penchant for logistics planning

I run Edges Wild Studio, a one-woman floral design house where story, art, and botany meet. Whether you're planning a wedding that feels more like a spell than a ceremony or building an immersive brand campaign that needs a wild world to hold it in, I'm your gal. My work blends myth and material together, through meticulous planning, sharp creative instincts, and the occasional zip tie. I have a wealth of experience in weddings, editorial shoots, public art, brand launches, and many weirdly wonderful one-offs. I specialize in taking your vision (even the half-formed and too-strange-for-Pinterest) and giving it tactile, visual form that people remember. I would love to hear from you if you're ready to create something unrepeatable, unexpected, and intensely alive!

Edges Wild is my one-woman folk artistry studio, a place for ideas to take form, flowers to find their feelings, and projects to unfold with care, curiosity, and weird delight.

Folk Art Floristry is a strange kind of beautiful. It might not be typical, but it is always tender, intentional, and alive.
