Perveen & Peter: the ultimate cool kids! She, an L.A. based actress, he, the founder of a carbon-neutral sunglasses company (called, hilariously, Crap Eyewear). Hosting their destination wedding on Peter's family ranch land outside of Houston. Since much of Perveen's family was traveling from Malaysia, Peter's from Australia, and many of their friends were flying in from either New York or California, Texas ended up being a great place to let people meet in the literal middle! In a similar extension of thoughtfulness, the couple wanted to blend meaningful elements from Perveen's Punjabi and Peter's Jewish traditions into the ceremony (a combined chuppah/mandap situation overhead, for starters), and also to just create a space where their guests and family could unwind, breathe easy, rest in the beauty of the land (vows under a ring of several-hundred-year old oak trees, the Spanish moss drifting in the breeze) and party until sunup if they wanted. The best part of private residence parties is no hard-out timeline! The second best part is definitely the comic scramble at the last minute to lay down some sheets of plywood across the cattle grate so that the party buses delivering guests can make it into the pasture without getting stuck.
