This is what I got into floristry for: clients who describe their ideal design aesthetic as “we stumbled upon an overgrown, ethereal greenhouse in the woodlands, plucked the most whimsical, textural, autumnal wildflowers we found there, and got married.”
This was our last wedding of 2024, and I know I say this truly almost every wedding, but it was my favorite of the year. I ordered and used a type of amaryllis called “green tarantula” that really stole the show, and even though the rain forced us to pivot to the indoor plan for the ceremony, we all actually ended up loving the garden museum-esque feel of a vow exchange inside the greenhouse at the Bryan Museum. Sparkily candlelight, draping vines, and the patter of rain on the glass roof. Magical.
